This is a very interesting example of a World War One helmet which went through a heavy amount of trauma from shrapnel damage. The helmet has a very heavy hole at the front, and an enormous crack and dent in the rear, which could only have happened from shrapnel damage in combat. The helmet is missing both the liner and chinstrap, but both metal end pieces of the chinstrap remain on the bales. The helmet still has both
